Fox makes first ever European commissions

Fox UK has ordered a pair of original series for the first time.

Fox UK, which was rebranded from FX in January, is part of the Fox International Channels group.

It has ordered Russians in the City and Man Up.

Russians in the City is an 8x60mins ob-doc about Russians living in London, delving into the ‘Russian scene’ that has been created in the English capital.

It will be made by Shed Media’s Ricochet.

The second original, Man Up, is a fact-ent series from Discovery-backed production company Betty.

The 10x60mins show will take ‘geeks and mummy’s boys’ and help them become capable and dynamic men.

Both shows were commissioned by Nicole Streak, commissioning editor, factual entertainment, FIC Europe.

The shows are expected to be shown on other Fox International Channels after their UK debut.

“It is an extremely exciting time for Fox as we look to broaden our audiences and venture into new programming genres,” said Jason Thorp, executive VP content Europe & MD UK Africa. “Having the ability to leverage our scale across Europe enables us to bring what the very best of the UK independent production community has to offer to a wider audience that all Fox channels can benefit from.”
