Peace Point finds development chief

Canadian producer Peace Point Entertainment has hired an original factual programmer from Shaw Media Channels to become its head of development.

Fiorella Grossi will lead the prodco’s Toronto-based development team plus its development execs based in New York and Los Angeles. She will identify opportunities on channels in the US and Canada and work to grow Peace Point’s content slate.

Grossi will also work closely with multi-platform unit Peace Point Digital and international distribution arm Peace Point Rights.

The hire comes after previous incumbent Shanna Albert moved across to Point Load Pictures (Holmes on Homes) last year.

Most recently, Grossi was a director of original production for Shaw Media Channels’ Lifestyle and Content divisions, working on shows including Wipeout Canada and Intervention Canada. She was also showrunner for Canadian specialty net Slice shows including Party Mamas and Wedding SOS.

Grossi was a co-founder of U8TV, Canada’s first internet TV channel, where she was showrunner on series including The Lofters, LoveShack and SoGayTV.

“Fiorella’s ‘perfect storm’ of experience as an award-winning producer and development executive for some of the industry’s top broadcasters and production companies in addition to her new media background make her an invaluable asset at this very exciting time in our growth. She has a keen sense of the market and understands how audiences are trending,” said Les Tomlin, president and CEO, Peace Point Entertainment.
