Endemol shops Your Face Sounds Familiar across Europe

Russia’s Channel One is among several broadcasters to have ordered local versions of Endemol-distributed format Your Face Sounds Familiar.

In the show, well-known personalities impersonate iconic music performers – often of a vastly different age or a different gender.

Endemol has shopped the format to the Russian free-to-air channel, which will air its version in March.

Local versions of the entertainment format have also been commissioned for first time in Greece and Cyprus on Antenna; Bulgaria for Nova TV; and Estonia for TV3. These versions will launch in prime time slots later this year.

Endemol has already inked deals for the show in Lithuania, Turkey, Romania and Ukraine. Novy Channel in Ukraine and BTV in Lithuania have both ordered second seasons, while Antena 1 in Romania has confirmed a third season.

Marina Williams, Endemol’s CEO of Central and Eastern Europe and MENA regions, said: “This latest deal to bring the format to Russia and new territories in the [CEE] region further cements the show’s position as Endemol’s next big international hit.”
