Distribution profit up 52% at Beyond

Beyond has recorded healthy increases in revenues and profit in its half-year results.

The producer and distributor posted six month revenues of A$49.8 million (US$51.27 million), a 13% year-on-year increase. Total net profit for the six months to the end of 2012 was A$4.7 million, up 17.3% on the corresponding period a year earlier.

Within the company’s distribution division, revenue increased 27.8%, taking the total to A$9.8 million.

Profit was up 52% year-on-year, taking the total to A$916,000.

New sales for Mythbusters, Deadly Women and Highway Thru Hell drove the increase.

Production revenue increased 12.5%, taking the total to A$25.2 million.

New commissions in the six months included Hidden in America for Discovery and new seasons of Dark Minds and Behind Mansion Walls.
