News brief: Arte launches content on Dailymotion

French cultural channel Arte is to take its first step into subscription VOD with a new deal with video-sharing site Dailymotion.

Thebroadcaster is making its international politics-focused magazine programme Dessous des Cartes available via the Dailymotion site for €3.99 a month.

Subscribers will have unlimited access to 185 editions of the show, which will be available via Dailymotion’s recently launched SVOD service across 34 countries.
