ABC Family orders two new reality series

Disney-owned US cable network ABC Family has ordered a half-hour reality comedy series from the Gurin Company and another about twenty-somethings in Martha’s Vineyard.

The Vineyard will follow the lives and loves of a group of youngsters over a summer in Martha’s Vineyard.

The docu soap will be made by US producer 25/7 Productions (The Biggest Loser).

Dancing Fools will be an unscripted comedy made by the Gurin Company, the producer behind The Singing Bee and Oh Sit.

It will be hosted by Melissa Peterman, star of Baby Daddy, the comedy series about a bachelor who adopts a baby. It was the most popular comedy ever on ABC Family when it launched last year.

Production on both new series will start this spring.
