New season order for FremantleMedia’s Strange Hill High

CBBC has ordered another series of comedy series Strange Hill High, ahead of the first one airing on the UK kids channel.

The multimedia series is a coproduction between FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment and CBBC with Factory Transmedia.

The first season will go out this spring. The second 13x30mins helping will air next year.

CBBC controller Cheryl Taylor has ordered the second season.

The show uses a new production technique combining puppets, and digital effects. It follows everyday classroom antics with fantastical goings on at the titular inner-city school.

The show’s production is led by Josh Weinstein (The Simpsons) and stars including John Thomson, Richard Ayoade and Caroline Aherne provide character voices.
