NBC takes more Ninja Warrior

US broadcast network NBC will air a new version of Japanese format Sasuke, or Ninja Warrior, starting next month.

The broadcaster and its cable sibling G4 jointly aired a version of the Tokyo Broadcasting System show last summer. NBC has now repackaged a new version of the show that it will air from next month.

The new version will have highlights from season four and new footage from the physical gameshow, which challenges contestants to the complete the world’s toughest obstacle course.

The eight part one-hour series will go out in an 8pm primetime slot on the network.

The TBS show is distributed by Bellon Entertainment in the US. Internationally TBS has teamed with Eccholine to roll the format out in Europe.
