Microsoft’s Halo show launching internationally

Content Television is launching Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, a live-action drama based on the computer games franchise, internationally.

The show is produced by Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries and was unveiled at Comic-Con last year.

Content Television has now secured worldwide distribution rights across broadcast, online, VOD and home entertainment platforms, with the exception of North America, where it holds broadcast rights only.

The 90-minute film was directed by Stewart Hendler (Sorority Row) and will be launched at NATPE as part of Content Media’s slate. It was available for a limited time on online destinations Machinima Prime and Halo Waypoint as part of the lead up to the worldwide launch of the Halo 4 last November 2012.

“With outstanding digital effects and strong character-driven drama, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn offers exceptional viewing for TV, digital and home entertainment that will appeal to existing fans and those new to the Halo universe.  We’re expecting both the feature and series to be in great demand,” said Jonathan Ford, executive VP, Content Television and Digital.
