iPlayer boss Daniel Danker joins BBC Studios board

Daniel Danker, general manager of programmes and on demand at the BBC’s Future Media division, has joined BBC Studios and Post Production (BBCS&PP) as a non-executive board member.

Danker oversees strategy and delivery of the BBC’s iPlayer catch-up service as well as its interactive Red Button offering.

Speaking about his board appointment, Danker said: “With BBC iPlayer, I’ve worked to bring great television to audiences in new ways. Here, we have the opportunity to go right back to the beginning of the production process, seeing digital innovation through an entirely new lens. I’m looking forward to helping the team bring this future to life.”

BBC Studios and Post Production is a commercial subsidiary of the BBC, providing studios, post production and digital media services. This month it will open a standalone post-production facility on Charlotte Street, London.
