Pawn Stars producer Leftfield promotes key execs

Pawn Stars producer Leftfield Pictures has promoted two of its key executives, David George and Chris Valentini.

This comes as the production company, run by Brent Montgomery, is currently in production with a UK remake of its hit reality series Pawn Stars and has recently opened an office in LA as it targets the scripted market.

George, who joined the company in 2010 and has produced series including History’s Counting Cars and Science’s Oddities franchise, will become executive vice president of programming. He had previously spent 12 years at MTV, where he produced series including The Hills and Making The Band as well as Legally Blonde: The Musical.

Meanwhile, Valentini, who was previously general manager of the company, has been named chief operating officer. He will oversee the financial, operational and strategic development of the conmpany. Before joining Leftfield in 2010, he was an executive producer at National Geographic Channel, where he produced series including Border Wars and Repossessed!

Both will continue to report to Montgomery.

“In the last two years, Leftfield has enjoyed tremendous expansion: Our Pawn Stars franchise spawned a third spin-off for History, Counting Cars, while we also debuted internationally with Pawn Stars UK currently in production; and the opening of our offices in Los Angeles reflects Leftfield’s commitment to broadening our creative scope and breadth, with new types of series in production for Lifetime, Bravo and others,” said Montgomery.

He added: “David George has been the creative force behind key Leftfield series like Counting Cars and Cajun Pawn Stars for History, the Oddities franchise for Science, Ball Boys for ABC, and more. Creatively, he continually raises the bar for Leftfield, which is something our network partners consistently respond to positively. At the same time, Chris Valentini has taken the reigns of Leftfield’s operations and business development, which has significantly impacted our growth, and he remains instrumental to the company’s domestic and international evolution. Both promotions reflect the dedication and leadership that David and Chris have shown in shepherding Leftfield’s success.”
