Canadian producer and distributor Shaftesbury has acquired international rights to reality web series The Avenue and has struck a first look deal with producer Foreground.
The Avenue is an 18x5mins web series that follows Gregory Gorgeous and his twentysomething circle of friends as they navigate their jobs and love lives in Toronto. The first season aired successfully via YouTube and the second season will launch at the end of November.
Separately, Shaftesbury has inked a first look deal with Scott Fisher and his production and management company Foreground.
“With The Avenue, Scott and Foreground have delivered an addictive guilty pleasure that has been tailor-made for online audiences,” said Shane Kinnear, senior vice president, sales and marketing, Shaftesbury.
