Foxtel launches iPad app

Australian pay TV broadcaster Foxtel is launching a new app that will allow subscribers to watch shows on their iPad.

The app will allow customers to watch 21 of the service’s channels including Nat Geo, Discovery, Disney, Cartoon Network, A&E, Sky News, The Lifestyle Channel, Cbeebies and Channel [V].

It will mean that they will be able to stream series including FX’s The Walking Dead and Fox 8’s comedy talk show Rove La.

“The TV landscape has changed, viewers are not just watching TV in the living room, they’re watching TV on the way to work, at the beach or in another room of the house. Foxtel Go is the biggest thing we’ve launched since digital and iQ,” said Richard Freudenstein, chief executive, Foxtel.
