BBC renews Luther for third season

The network has ordered four new episodes of the Idris Elba-fronted series and announced that the show was in production this month.

The channel annnounced the pick up in a video statement. “We start shooting in November. To create something as brilliant as Luther takes time. But it will be worth the wait,” said the video.

It also alluded to the fact that Ruth Wilson’s character Alice Morgan will return for series three, despite Neil Cross suggesting plans for an Alice spin-off.
