TVF lines up big-budget docs for MIPCOM

International distributor TVF is taking two new big-budget documentaries to MIPCOM including a film produced by Sam Branson, son of Virgin boss Richard Branson.

The sales agent will be shopping Breaking The Taboo and The Real Inglorious Bastards to international broadcasters in Cannes.

Drug documentary Breaking The Taboo (pictured) features interviews with Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter and is narrated by Morgan Freeman, John Hurt and Gael Garcia Bernal. It looks at the UN sanctioned war on drugs, charting its origins and devastating impact in countries including the USA, Colombia, Russia and Brazil. The one-off doc is produced by Sundog Pictures, the production company set up by Sam Brason and former Virgin Media exec Johnny Webb.

Meanwhile, The Real Inglorious Bastards tells the true story behind Quentin Tarantino’s film about a group of Jewish-American refugees of Nazi Germany that went behind enemy lines for vengeance. The 52minute doc is produced by Storyline for History.

These docs will be shopped by TVF’s international sales team lead by head of sales Jessica Bennetts.
