Sweden’s SVT buys hit Turkish drama

SVT has become the first major broadcaster in Western Europe to buy a Turkish drama. The Swedish public broadcaster has acquired Ay Yapim’s scripted series The End.

 

SVT said it will strip The End in an access prime/primetime slot, starting next January.

“We are excited to be the first major broadcaster in Western Europe to air a series from the vibrant Turkish television drama scene,” said. Göran Danasten, head of fiction at SVT. “The End is a great, and different addition to our drama slate.”

The End follows a wife unravelling events surround the disappearance of her husband. It is set in Turkey, Iran and Norway.

The series is distributed by Eccho Rights, which also sells other Ay Yapim shows including Ezel.
