ITV Studios eyes new int’l format sales

ITV Studios Global Entertainment, the international arm of the British commercial broadcaster, has added a raft of new formats to its MIPCOM slate.

The company is launching Surprise, Surprise, Top Dog Model, Fool…, Don’t Blow The Inheritance and Marry Me? at the market in Cannes next month.

It is also bringing scripted format Prime Suspect to market for the first time. The crime drama, which was originally produced for ITV in the UK, was remade last year in the United States for NBC and the sales arm will be hoping to strike more scripted format deals at the event.

Returning series heading back to MIPCOM include Red or Black?, which is a coproduction with Simon Cowell’s Syco, and The Audience, which was produced by The Garden for Channel 4.

Mike Beale, director of international formats, ITV Studios said: “We are delighted to be unveiling a strong line-up of new formats this market. Our portfolio contains a wide variety of shows that transcend geographical boundaries and will appeal to broadcasters worldwide.”
