German free-to-air channel RTL has commissioned a local version of US sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine. The Warner Bros.-owned format will be produced by local producer Polyphon and debut next year.
The show was originally produced by Kari Lizer’s production company, Kari’s Logo Here, in association with Warner Bros. Television. The half-hour comedy series ran on CBS for five seasons from 2006 in the US.
It follows divorced working mom Christine Campbell (Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the US version) as she juggles the daily stresses and conflicts of motherhood and her business and her charming ex-husband, Richard
“This is the first Warner Bros. scripted format to be commissioned in Germany and we’re delighted to be working with Polyphon on the production” said Andrew Zein, senior VP, creative format development and sales.
