Televisa to launch local version of CBS’ The Doctors

Mexican broadcaster Televisa is to launch a local version of CBS Studios International’s medical daytime format The Doctors.

The network has ordered 60 episodes of Los Doctores and it will launch later this month.

Telenovela producer Carla Estrada will exec produce the series, which will feature six Spanish-speaking doctors addressing medical topics.

“We are very excited to be working with CBS Studios International to produce a Mexican version of this popular, informative series,” said José Baston, president of television and content at Grupo Televisa. Los Doctores is a wonderful contribution to the health and well-being of our Mexican viewers.”

This marks the eight local version of the format, which has also been produced locally by Radio Canada in French-Canada, MTV Lebanon, Studiovision Productions for Dubai Tv in the Middle East, Flare Media for Ned 1 in the Netherlands, SIC TV in Portugal, 1 + 1 Studios in Ukraine and Kiet Tuong for HVT7 in Vietnam.
