Banijay expands with London office

Banijay International is to open a new office in London, marking the first time that the distributor has had a base in the British capital.

The company, which is the sales arm of production conglomerate Banijay Group, will relocate a number of its sales staff from its Paris and Copenhagen offices. This comes as the company has doubled in size since its inception in 2010.

The firm has never had a London office, although international sales executive Luci Burnley was based there.

Karoline Spodsberg, MD, Banijay International, said: “London is an epicentre for the formats industry and as a major distribution player we wanted to have a physical presence in this key market. Over the last two years Banijay International has grown from a small entity to a busy bustling team constantly on the road meeting with clients and assessing the industry landscape across all continents. However, our boutique way of working with both format owners and clients has stayed the same and by centralising the full team in London we will be able to optimise all the synergies within our team and at the same time make sure we deliver top quality to all our partners.”

Separately, the company is also increasing its focus on acquiring formats from the US market and global acquisitions manager Fanny Baudry has relocated to Los Angeles to further this push.
