Space picks up Kevin Smith’s Hulu series Spoilers

Canadian broadcaster Space has acquired Kevin Smith’s movie series Spoilers, the first time that an original series produced for digital platform Hulu has moved to television.

The Bell Media-owned broadcaster has acquired the 10 episode movie review series, fronted by the Clerks and Mallrats director, after striking a deal with Canadian distributor Alliance Films.

Hulu commissioned the series, produced by Smith’s SModCast Pictures, as part of its drive to launch original programming, which also includes political comedy Battleground, produced by Spiderman director Marc Webb, Richard Linklater’s documentary series Up To Speed and Morgan Spurlock’s A Day In The Life.

Spoilers, which will bow on Space on July 27, sees Smith review the latest movies with a group audience and also features interviews with TV and film talent including Carrie Fisher and Damon Lindelof.
