Discovery strikes Eyeworks deal

Factual channel operator Discovery Networks has acquired Eyeworks’ Australian reality series Kings Cross ER for a raft of its international stations.

Discovery will air the 10x30mins series on its networks in the UK, Benelux, the Nordics and across Central and Eastern Europe. This comes after it launched on Discovery Fit & Health in the United States.

The series centres around St Vincent’s hospital in the Kings Cross district of Sydney, one of the busiest hospitals in the world. It originally aired on Australian pay TV broadcaster Foxtel, where it became the highest rated documentary on pay TV. The series has subsequently aired on New Zealand’s TV3.
