Int’l nets acquire FME’s Monsuno

A raft of international broadcasters including UK’s CITV, Spain’s RTVE and Australia’s Nine have acquired FremantleMedia Enterprises’ kids series Monsuno.

The 52x30mins boy-skewing action adventure series has been picked up by six global networks including YTV in Canada, Spacetoon in the Middle East and Switchover Media’s K2 channel in Italy.

In the UK, the show will air on British commercial broadcaster’s kids channel CITV, in Spain it will launch on RTVE’s Clan and in Australia it will run on Nine’s GO! channel.

The series is coproduced by Pacific Animation Partners, a joint venture between JAKKS Pacific and Dentsu Entertainment USA and FremantleMedia Enterprises holds the international distribution and licensing rights outside of Asia.

Andrew Berman, FME’s VP, distribution, Kids & Family Entertainment, commented, “We are incredibly excited to announce these new programming deals which further demonstrate the worldwide appeal of Monsuno. The TV series and related merchandise have been very successful in the US and we’re confident Monsuno will fast become a powerful force in the global boys’ action arena.”
