Raft of post-MIPTV sales for A+E

A+E Networks has inked a raft of programme sales deals in the wake of MIPTV, selling its key franchises into territories in Europe and Asia.

Spanish free-to-air broadcaster La Sexta has picked up shows including American Pickers, Pawn Stars and Swamp People. Spanish DTT channels Netro and Neox, meanwhile, have bought several Lifetime movies.

Finland’s Sanoma has also picked up a package of shows including American Pickers and Ax Men.

In France DTT net Direct 8 has acquired Seven Signs of the Apocalypse and France 5 has It’s Good to be the President. Danish public broadcaster DR has taken Ice Road Truckers and IRT Deadliest Roads for its high definition channel DR HD.

A+E also closed several deals with Chinese broadcasters including ICS Channel, which picked up Cities of the Underworld and Engineering an Empire and Phoenix Channel, which bought Swamp People and Coming Home.

Chinese state broadcaster CCTV acquired shows including Swamp People and How the Earth was Made.
