Former FremantleMedia exec Spalding resurfaces at formats firm

Former FremantleMedia exec Simon Spalding has resurfaced at formats company Yummi Media Group.

Spalding, who was regional chief executive for Europe and Asia Pacific and left the company in July 2011, is tasked with driving the international expansion of the formats firm.

Yummi develops game formats with a particular focus on mobile and social gaming as well as general television entertainment series. The company’s television division is run by Michael Leggo, former head of light entertainment at the BBC and producer of Noel’s House Party and Mr. Blobby.

Leggo said: “We are delighted to welcome Simon Spalding to Yummi. Simon has a wealth of experience in rolling out entertainment propositions globally and the perfect industry pedigree to facilitate international success for Yummi’s unique format creations. His appointment signals a dynamic new phase for a company whose first new format provides an exciting new slant to the TV game genre.”
