Spanish indie Phileas strikes deals ahead of Cannes

Spanish indie producer Phileas Productions has closed a number of high-profile international format deals ahead of MIPTV.

The company has optioned gameshow The ATM in Turkey and a local version of its musical format The Facegroup Band is being remade in Argentina.

In Turkey, ARTI will remake The ATM, a gameshow where contestants must compete five challenges in order to keep the €500,000 that has been debited into their bank account.

In Argentina, Peppermind is remaking the on-the-road musical format with a number of interactive elements.

Separately, the company has inked a number of production deals with major Spanish producers Imagina and Veralia. Imagina Sales will be distributing two series Kite School and A Case For You, while Verlia will be working with Phileas on The 20 Little Piggy Banks format.

Sergio Sancho, founder and managing director of Phileas Productions, will be speaking at MIP Formats on Saturday 30th March as part of The Indies Take The Stage presentation alongside Norwegian indie Monster, Russian producer Red Square and Israel’s Gil Productions.
