Beta brings Copper to market

German distributor Beta Films hopes that its arresting new series Copper can lead to a successful MIPTV.

The distributor is launching 200 hours of programming at the event including a raft of television movies and miniseries.

Beta Films acquired the international rights to Copper, which is written by Homicide’s Tom Fontana and coproduced by Cineflix Studios for BBC America, in Germany, France, Southern and Eastern Europe and Asia.

Other series it will be distributing including Grand Hotel, produced by Bambu Producciones for Antena 3, that’s been described as the “Spanish Downton Abbey“, and Artic Air, a Polar adventure series starring Cowboys & Aliens’ Adam Beach.

In terms of television movies, Beta is shopping teamWorx-produced Munich ’72 and culture clash comedy Trouble à la Carte, produced by U5 Filmproduktion for ARD Degeto.
