Paul Robinson resurfaces at Andy Heyward’s A Squared

Former KidsCo boss Paul Robinson has been appointed president of A Squared Elxsi International, the kids producer and distributor run by Andy Heyward.

In his new role Robinson will manage the international expansion of A Squared Elxsi (A2E2), covering original production and content acquisitions.

Former Dic Entertainment boss Andy Heyward set up A Squared Entertainment in 2009 and then a joint venture with India’s Tata Elxsi, forming A2E2.

It will showcase Secret Millionaires Club at MIPTV, the Xing Xing Digital-produced series featuring billionaire philanthropist Warren Buffett. Other brands on A2E2’s books include the Build-A-Bear property.

Robinson said: “A2E2 is perfectly positioned to provide world class content to customers and licensees in today’s rapidly developing digital media industry. I will be leading our growth into international markets.”

“I can think of no other executive as talented and knowledgeable, (or as tall!) as Paul Robinson” said Heyward, A2E2 Founder and co-president. “We have ambitious plans to expand A2E2 internationally and no one is more qualified to lead this growth than Paul with his proven track record of success.”

Robinson left KidsCo late last year in acrimonious circumstances and is understood to still be resolving issues relating to the terms of his departure with NBC Universal, along one of the channel’s owners.
