Warner Bros strikes production deal in China

Warner Bros has struck a landmark production deal in China.

Warner Bros. International Television Production, the international production arm of the Hollywood studio has signed a deal with China’s Mei Tian Mei Yu (Mei Tian) and H& R Century TV (H&R) to produce a 30x60mins teen drama.

The deal was inked with the help of Metan Development Group, the company founded by former News Corp exec Marty Pompadur and E! founder Larry Namer.

“We are delighted to be working with Mei Tan and H&R to bring this new series to one of the most vibrant and exciting countries on the planet, China,” said Andrew Zein, senior VP, creative, format development and sales, Warner Bros. International Television Production.

The Mandarin-language series, which will focus on the lives on teenagers at the prestigious Shanghai International University, will launch in November 2012.
