Gaumont staffs up international TV division

Gaumont International Television has made a number of senior executive hires.

The the LA and London-based production company, set up last year by the French studio, has hired former Sony Pictures Television exec Andy House and Gerber Pictures’ Elisa Roth as well as Marc Hirschfeld and Alison Engel.

House will become head of production, while Roth joins as head of creative affairs, Hirschfeld will supervise casting and Engel becomes VP, creative affairs.

“We are thrilled to have as part of our executive team these three highly respected senior television executives with such deep relationships in the global television community,” said COO Richard Frankie.

Ahead of the Gaumont appointment , House was senior VP at Sony Pictures Television, a role in which he represented the studio in its Russian joint venture, producing Russian-language series. In the US he has supervised series including Dawson’s Creek.

Roth joins from Gerber Pictures, the film company based at Warner Bros.’ studio. Prior to that she was at NBC Universal in drama programming and developed and oversaw production on series including Heroes and Law & Order.
