#18: Notorious (NBC)

The US networks are deep into development season and have spent the past few weeks frantically ordering pilots ahead of this year’s Upfronts and LA Screenings. TBI takes a look at some of the most interesting projects that are up for consideration.

#18: Notorious (NBC)

Can a pilot that receives an extremely late pilot order prosper in the chaotic world of network development? The team behind glitzy soap Notorious will certainly hope so.

The show, which is produced by Universal Television in association with BermanBraun, follows a young detective who returns undercover to the family that she grew up in to solve the murder of a notorious heiress, who happened to be a close friend.

The show will star Alias actor Victor Garber as the wealthy patriarch of the family (and CEO of a large drug firm).

It was written by Friday Night Lights writer Liz Heldens, who also worked on hospital drama Mercy, which was produced by BermanBraun and Universal Television. It will be exec produced by Gail Berman, Lloyd Braun and Gene Stein.

Chances: Fair; the success of ABC soap Revenge (and the much buzzed midseason series GCB) suggest soaps are still hot on the schedule.
