DCD buys struggling UK post production business

DCD Media has acquired UK-based post-production house Sequence.

The production and distribution group said that the deal means its companies will benefit from in-house post production services.

Sequence has struggled financially in recent times and DCD has stepped in with fresh funding. Having acquired the brand, assets and senior management, DCD said that it plans to recruit new staff and invest in updating Sequence’s in-house facilities.

The post company has worked with a range of clients including the All3Media, the BBC, Sunset & Vine and Sky and is expected to continue working with third parties as well as DCD’s production companies, which include September Film, Prospect Pictures, Matchlight and Done and Dusted.

Sequence brand Founder Ben Foakes said: “Despite our recent circumstances, we are very pleased to have been recognised by such an established group for our quality of work. We have lacked capital investment and business support in the past, but will now benefit from an entire team of specialists to backup our creative team”.

David Green, CEO, DCD Media said: “We are delighted to bring Sequence’s widely recognized creative talent and assets into the group in a move to boost our in-house production capabilities and deliver added benefit across our production operations”.
