Warner Bros. inks German output deal with Sky

German pay TV operator Sky Deutschland has struck a long-term multi-platform deal with Warner Bros International Television Distribution.

The two companies have renewed an agreement that will see Warner Bros titles on the News Corp-backed service until 2015.

The three-year agreement includes the subscription video-on-demand rights exclusively for all new releases during the licence period of the first pay window as well as the exclusive pay TV rights for all Warner Bros films across satellite, cable, IPTV, internet and mobile during the license period.

Movies that will be available will include J. Edgar, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, the new Tim Burton and Johnny Depp collaboration Dark Shadows, which will be presented on Sky in 3D, The Dark Knight Rises as well as local German productions including Kokowääh and Männerherzen und die ganz ganz große Liebe.

Not only does this deal secure one of Hollywood´s most important suppliers for pay TV, it also guarantees quality films for our innovative services Sky Anytime and Sky Go.”
