ITV Studios backs start-up UK indie producer Noho

ITV Studios is backing a new UK drama production company, Noho Film and TV.

The producer will be a 50-50 joint venture between ITV and Camilla Campbell and Robert Wulff-Cochrane who are leaving their positions running Channel 4’s drama department to set up the company.

The new firm will focus on scripted projects for young adults and begin developing ideas at the start of next year.

Kevin Lygo, managing director, ITV Studios said: “This joint venture is a new way for ITV Studios to work with creative talent and continue to build our drama output. Camilla and Robert have commissioned some of the most successful and interesting young adult drama in recent years; with their creative leadership we expect Noho Film and TV to quickly develop a strong production slate.”

Campbell and Wulff-Cochrane have run the drama department at UK commercial broadcaster Channel 4 for the last two years. Between them, they have commissioned series including Misfits, Skins, This is England 86 and Top Boy.

In a joint statement they said: “We’ve been lucky to work with an extraordinary array of creative talent and hope that through Noho Film and TV we can continue working with the best writers and directors across theatre, film and television to make outstanding shows.”
