Eyeworks sets up drama studio in Denmark

International producer and distributor Eyeworks is moving into drama production in Denmark with the launch of a new venture with Lulu and Leon producer Thomas Gammeltoft.

Eyeworks is launching Eyework Fine & Mellow with Gammeltoft, who set up indie Fine & Mellow with Hella Joof and Jannik Johansen and was backed by Nordisk Film.

The new company will focus on drama production as well as theatrical releases and marks Eyeworks’ first moves into scripted programming in the country, following a number of unscripted projects.

Gammeltoft will be creative director of the new company and Eyeworks Denmark managing director Esben Halding will be MD, Eyeworks Fine & Mellow.

Halding said: “Eyeworks Denmark has successfully built a strong position in the non-scripted genre and we have been looking for an opportunity to enter drama production. And Thomas Gammeltoft is the perfect partner for us.”
