FremantleMedia appoints Paul O’Hanlon Asia MD

FremantleMedia has appointed Paul O’Hanlon managing director of its Asian business. Reporting to Asia-Pac CEO Ian Hogg, O’Hanlon will oversee FremantleMedia’s production business in the region.

He starts in the new role in October, having joined FremantleMedia in February as executive producer, production and development, FremantleMedia Australia. Prior to that he was programme director at Next TV in Taiwan and served a five-year stint as senior VP, production, at News Corp’s Star TV.

He said: “I’ll be focusing on the development process and our drive to create and inspire new, innovative programming in this diverse and dynamic part of the world”.

Ian Hogg was upped from chief executive of FremantleMedia Australia before being appointed, in July, boss of the whole Asian operation following the departure of Patrick Schult. He said: “Paul will oversee the current production slate as well as driving new business, creatively and commercially, across Asia. He has an intuitive understanding of the region with extensive experience and great success in both management and production.”
