AXN Asia strikes Cash Cab format deal

Pan regional Asian pay TV broadcaster AXN is launching a local version of gameshow format Cash Cab after striking a deal with All3Media International.

The broadcaster, which is operated by Sony Pictures Television Networks, Asia, will launch the show across 21 countries, where it reaches 98 million households.

The local version of the show will be hosted by presenter Oli Pettigrew and will be sponsored by car manufacturer Chevrolet Asia.

AXN Asia has had success importing big ticket US series from the Hollywood studios such as CBS Studios International’s Blue Bloods, the CSI franchise, MGM-distributed drama Teen Wolf and NBC talent series The Voice, but this marks one of its first major forays into local production.
