Discovery inks programme sales deal with Hasbro

Discovery Communications has inked a one-year deal with toy manufacturer Hasbro and will distribute its TV shows internationally to the airline industry.

Discovery’s programme sales arm, Discovery Enterprises International, will sell Hasbro Studios’ series including My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Transformers Prime and G.I. Joe Renegades.

Discovery and Hasbro are partners in US kids channel The Hub, which airs the above-mentioned show. DEI will start selling the series at this week’s in-flight entertainment market, Apex.

“This agreement extends the existing partnership between Hasbro and Discovery while providing our programming to premier non-theatrical outlets around the world,” Hasbro Studios president Stephen Davis said.
