Brazil’s Globo to produce Dutch format

Brazilian broadcaster Globo is producing a local version of emotional airport format Hello Goodbye after striking a deal with Dutch formats house BlazHoffski.

The Brazilian network has commissioned a local version of the format, which  looks at the hellos and goodbyes that take place in the arrival and departure halls at international airports.

“Because it’s successful in Brazil and we haven’t sold it previously in South America, there’s now fiver other broadcasters in the region interested,” says BlazHoffski co-founder Dan Blazer.

The show, which was originally produced for Ned 1 in the Netherlands, has been sold to a raft of international broadcasters including Nine (Australia), VTM (Belgium) and TNT (Russia). It was piloted by Lifetime in the United States but never aired and BlazHoffski is still hoping to close a US deal.

The company, which is run by former 2waytraffic founder Taco Ketelaar, was at MIP TV talking to international broadcasters about its Flashback format, which is being distributed by Warner Bros International Television Production.
