Exclusive: Danny Goldman leaving Sony to make a Power move

Danny Goldman is leaving Sony Pictures Television and is set to head up a new look Power, TBIvision has learnt.

Goldman is currently senior vice president of distribution at Sony Pictures Television, based in its London office. He will leave the international sales arm of the Hollywood studio at the end of March.

He is expected to join Power next month as the producer and distributor looks to revamp its business. It was acquired by South African company Sabido Investments in December after going into administration in September. The company was previously run by chief executive Justin Bodle, who left earlier this year, and is expected to concentrate on the distribution business rather than production.

Goldman has worked at SPT for ten and a half years and has been involved in a number of significant programming agreements including volume deals with UK pay TV operator BSkyB and pan-European broadcaster Viasat as well as the launch of series including Rescue Me on Apple’s iTunes.
