The Sundance Channel is doubling the amount of original programming it launches this year following the success of recent series Girls Who Like Boys Who Like Boys and Carlos.
The Rainbow Media-owned cable network, which was founded by actor Robert Redford, is launching six new series and has two new non-fiction series in development. It is launching Authentic Entertainment’s All On The Line, which follows Elle creative director Joe Zee, North South Productions’ Garo Unleashed, which centres around New York designer Garo, Sharp Entertainment’s pop culture series Love|Lust and Quirky, following 24-year old entrepreneur Ben Kaufman, Authentic Entertainment’s cooking series Ludo Bites America and Relativity Real’s Shoebox Sessions. The shows in development include Neumont, about a fast paced college and Diva of Distressed, which follows businesswomen Lynn Tilton.
The line up is headed by Michael Klein, senior VP, original programming and development and was announced by Sundance Channel general manager Sarah Barnett.
