BBC, Showtime pick up more Episodes

British public broadcaster the BBC and US cable network Showtime have recommissioned Matt LeBlanc-fronted comedy Episodes for a second season.

This comes after Hat Track International, the distribution arm of producer Hat Trick Productions, sold the series to 186 countries.

The series, which averaged 1.3 million viewers in the UK and just below 1 million on premium pay network Showtime, is written by Friends‘ David Crane and Mad About You’s Jeffrey Klarik and exec produced by Hat Trick’s Jimmy Mulville.

It has subsequently been sold around the world to broadcasters including Nine (Australia), HBO Central Europe, Kanal 5 (Sweden), TV2 (Denmark) and Fox Russia.

Paul Cohen, director of legal and business affairs at Hat Trick, told TBIvision that the company was pretty buoyant over the show’s success. “We’re all very hopeful for the second season,” he added.
