BBCWW drives Top Gear USA sales

A raft of international broadcasters has picked up the US version of Top Gear after closing deals with BBC Worldwide.

Australia’s Nine Network, Sweden’s Kanal 5, New Zealand’s Prime, Norway’s NRK3, Iceland’s Screen One, Israel’s Ego, Finland’s MTV3 and Discovery Italy have all picked up the American remake of the British car racing format.

The History Channel in the US airs the series, which stars comedian Adam Ferrara, racing driver Tanner Foust and commentator Rutledge Wood, and has just picked up the 10x1hour show for a second season.

Top Gear USA forms part of BBC Worldwide’s slate for the forthcoming Showcase event in Brighton, which is held between February 27 – March 2, and MIP TV in April.
