Endemol acquires stake in German producer

Endemol has acquired a stake in German production company Herr P.

The international formats giant has bought a majority stake in the company, which is known for producing gameshows and is run by television presenter and producer Jorg Pilawa.

Endemol Germany has already been working with Pilawa and Herr P on the local version of The Money Drop, which is being produced for public broadcaster ZDF as Rette die Million.

Herr P currently produces series including Star Quiz, Kennen Sie Deutschland? (How well do you know Germany?) and Der Grosse Partnerschaftstest (The Big Couples Test).

The two companies will jointly develop a number of entertainment formats for Germany and international markets and Endemol Germany managing director Marcus Wolter will become joint managing director, Herr P.

“Jorg’s popularity with audiences and his creativity as a producer speaks for itself. The aim of our partnership is to further grow Herr P into a leading producer in Germany,” said Wolter.
