Forbes to run Discovery Germany following Kastner exit

Discovery Germany has confirmed that boss Magnus Kastner has left and that European boss Dee Forbes will replace him in the interim.

Kastner, who was senior VP and general manager of the German, Austrian and Swiss division of international factual channel operator Discovery Networks, reportedly left the broadcaster last week.

Forbes, who is executive vice president and managing director, Discovery Networks UK and Western Europe, will take over day-to-day management of the German business until a replacement is found.

Kastner, who was part of the team that launched free-to-air channel DMAX in September 2006, said: “I am proud of my time at Discovery. We have achieved a great deal and the launch of DMAX has made a significant contribution to Discovery’s German business. I wish Discovery every success and I am looking forward to new challenges ahead.”
