SevenOne to coproduce Lifetime’s Royal Wedding TV movie

Germany’s SevenOne International will coproduce William & Kate, the upcoming TV movie about the UK Royal Wedding, which will air on US cable net Lifetime later this year.

SevenOne has taken all international rights – ex-North America – and will handle international sales of the show. It will coproduce it with The Konigsberg Company.

The wedding takes place on April 29th. The TV movie starts shooting this month and will be delivered in April after being fast-tracked by Lifetime.

The movie tracks the relationship of the young couple up to their fairytale wedding.

Nico Evers-Swindell (Edge of Darkness) plays Prince William and Ben Cross (Chariots of Fire) his father Prince Charles. The role of Kate Middleton is expected to be filled by Camilla Luddington (Accidentally in Love).

Frank Konigsberg, who is currently producing a two-part Ben Hur miniseries for ABC, will executive produce.

“With this touching story in the hands of Frank Konigsberg, one of the best TV producers in the business, we are proud to offer this year’s most moving television events,” said Jens Richter of SevenOne International.
