DRG to distribute Retired at 35

Distributor DRG has picked up international distribution rights to TV Land comedy Retired at 35, the follow up to hit sitcom Hot in Cleveland.

The company is also finalising a number of global sales and expects to announce deals imminently.

The 10x30mins series, which follows Medium’s Johnathan McClain as a disillusioned businessman who moves out of New York to his parents’ retirement village, will follow Hot in Cleveland, the Betty White-fronted series that is distributed internationally by Endemol in the new year.

The show, which also stars Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?’s George Segal and Arrested Development’s Jessica Walter, is executive produced by Spin City’s Chris Case and Rita Rocks’ Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis, and also guest stars Cheers’ Shelley Long and Friends’ Christina Pickles.

Andrea Jackson, managing director, acquisitions, DRG, said: “Extremely funny, sharp and relevant, TV Land’s Retired at 35 is fast generating an incredible buzz around the world and we’ll soon be announcing multiple international deals.”
