Red Arrow inks programme deal with US indie Genetic

Red Arrow Entertainment has inked another content deal with a US indie, this time closing a first-look development deal with recently-formed reality and gameshow producer Genetic.

The agreement gives Red Arrow first look at Genetic shows and first option to handle international sales via SevenOne International.

Genetic will retain US rights to its content. The indie was set up by David Wyler, founder of Alchemy TV, creative and exec producer Lincoln Hiatt and ex-Game Show Network exec Curt Northrup.

It has created reality competition series Home Sweet Hotel, which has been optioned in several countries in Europe and its gameshow Beat the Average has been optioned by Endemol in France.

Jan Frouman, Group Managing Director of Red Arrow, added:  “We are thrilled to be in partnership with Genetic, and expect our relationship to add vital creative firepower to our growing production and distribution businesses.”

Genetic’s Curt Northrup said: “Having the support of Red Arrow and regular access to a producer as astute as Michael Schmidt gives us the muscle of a large international corporation while preserving our creative independence and agility”.
