Google reveals TV content partners

Google has revealed a number of content partners for its forthcoming US Google TV launch.

Turner Broadcasting has optimised a number of its websites for viewing on Google TV, including TBS, TNT, CNN, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, while NBC Universal has teamed up with the search engine giant to delver an app for CNBC Real-Time, allowing users to track stocks and access news feeds while watching financial news from CNBC on the TV.

HBO meanwhile will deliver its HBO Go! service via Google TV. Authenticated subscribers will be able to view HBO content on-demand via an enhanced website designed for the service.

The US NBA will provide NBA Game Time, an application that allows user to follow basketball game scores in real-time while watching highlights of matches in HD.

Other content partners named by Google include Amazon Video On Demand and Netflix, The New York Times, USA Today, music sites Vevo, Pandora and Napster, Twitter and Blip.tv.

Google has also launched a new website. Google.com/tv, to provide more information about the features of the service. The company says that Google TV devices from Logitech and Sony will launch next month.
