Shaftesbury launches factual division

Canadian producer and distributor Shaftesbury Films has launched a factual division.

The company, which is run by chairman and chief executive Christina Jennings, has hired factual producer Rachel Low to head the new Shaftesbury Factual division to expand on its kids and drama productions.

Low was previously executive producer and development consultant at Frantic Films and has been responsible for series including cooking series Pitchin’ In and CBC documentary Talking About AIDs.

“The move into factual production is the next strategic step for us to further diversify our business and development slate,” said Jennings.
